Beware Cheaters; CoD Anti-cheat Will Now Take Away Your Weapons

Being in the shoes of a faithful Warzone player is not easy. Imagine trying to survive in a world where every bullet is shot to pierce your mortal body, when your enemies have the finest guns, immunity against explosives, and are cheating their way to victory.

Cheaters have bedeviled Call of Duty for quite some time, and that is why Activision engaged in hostilities against them by releasing the Ricochet anti-cheat system last year. Unfortunately, these fraudsters still managed to find a way around it despite Activision’s best efforts to tweak the system.

As such, the company decided it was high time to enhance Ricochet’s capabilities and consequently updated it to punish the cheaters brutally.

By relying on a new anti-cheat technique called ‘Disarm,’ the Ricochet team aims to get rid of cheaters’ ability to afflict damage by removing their arms as well as fists.

This means that if you are caught being unfaithful, from every gun you equip to your fists will be taken away from you mid-match. As a result, the cheaters will be exposed in front of everyone, leaving them under the heel of other players.

Today we’re sharing another mitigation technique from our toolbox: Disarm.” said the Anti-Cheat team. “Like the name implies, when cheaters are detected, we simply take their weapons away from them (including their fists). We don’t expect many clips of this to find their way online, but we have seen it in action, and the reactions from cheaters are always priceless.

The developer also confirmed that besides the existing games, Ricochet would be used in the upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 right from the moment they release.

So if you haven’t dived into the world of Call of Duty yet and are planning on doing so when the above-mentioned titles will release, Activision has got you covered.

With that being said, it’s absolutely hilarious to see Activision making cheaters look stupid and leaving them at the mercy of sincere gamers instead of throwing them out straight away.
