Genshin Impact: Update 1.5 and PS5 Version to Drop on April 28

The folks at Mihoyo have been hard at work trying to get fans new content for Genshin Impact. In a livestream yesterday, the chinese developers announced the release dates for Update 1.5 and the game’s upcoming PS5 version and also detailed all the content and next-gen additions that the new update will bring to the game.

Update 1.5, the follow-up to the “Invitation of Windblume”, will be titled “Beneath the Light of Jadite” and will arrive across platforms on April 28.

The update will come with a load of next-gen enhancements which, according to Mihoyo, will improve both visuals and overall performance. Additionally, the update will also introduce two new characters – five-star Eula and four-star Yanfei – as the patch delves deeper into the history of Liyue.

While players grind resources to earn these new heroes, they will have the chance to battle additional monsters too. Each one of these battles will serve as an opportunity for players to level-up as each monster will drop precious resources to aid character progression. Another major feature in Update 1.5 will allow customization of personal realms. Additionally, the patch will also make it easier to get weekly Trounce Domain rewards; a definite highlight for those who log in often.

Clearly there’s a lot to unpack for all those who will download “Beneath the Light of Jadite”. A better-looking world, a host of new activities, new monsters to beat, and the introduction of new characters should keep players for a good long while. Or, at least, until Update 1.6 drops. More character additions will definitely be a big plus as it will give players the chance to experiment with new permutations & combinations for their teams.

The PS5 version of the game will drop, along with Update 1.5, on April 28. While it was already known that the edition is coming this Spring, the game’s output specifications still remain unknown. Ideally, it should run at 4K-60 fps, but the same has not been confirmed by Mihoyo.
