Looks like the rumors of footballer skins being introduced in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 were true after all, as images of two world-class football superstars in COD operator get-ups surfaced online.
Amidst the datamined preloaded game files, players discovered images of football players Neymar and Paul Poga dressed in full tactical gear.
It has not been specified how Neymar and Pogba will be accessed in the game. Although, some have speculated that they will be available via microtransaction packs and that they might be related to the upcoming FIFA World Cup.
Initially, fans were a little confused whether the footballers would fit into the game’s aesthetic, since Modern Warfare really did a fun number with various Operator designs. Although Modern Warfare 2’s playable characters roster seems more in line with the Call of Duty spirit.
Another such example is the Burger Town Operator. Players would need to visit a Burger King outlet and purchase the Modern Warfare meal. They would receive a special code with the meal, using which gamers can redeem the free skin along with up to 2 hours of double XP in multiplayer mode. This offer is not yet available in Burger King restaurants in the US.
Those who don’t really mind appearances shouldn’t be too concerned with the footballer skins since these Operators don’t actually appear in campaign mode.
On the other hand, customization-minded gamers should be delighted since Modern Warfare 2 has a wide array of weapons, available at launch, with even more planned for future updates.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 seems to be missing a few fan-favorite game modes like Gun Game and Gunfight. Popular choices such as Search and Destroy, Domination, Hardpoint, and Team Deathmatch have been brought back, along with some new ones like Prisoner Rescue and Knockout.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
