NVIDIA’s RTX 4090 Features 60% Faster Base Clock than the RTX 3090 

NVIDIA has been consistently working towards clearing its shelves to make way for its next-gen line of processors, even stopping production for an RTX 3080 variant. Fans have been waiting for an official release date since the GPUs were announced.  

Twitter user @kopite7kimi gave an updated specs list for NVIDIA’s upcoming GeForce RTX 4090/4080/4070 models.  

The RTX 4090 will use AD102 GPU. The base and boost clocks for the processor measure 2235 MHz and 2520 MHz, while the actual in-game clock goes up to 2750 MHz.  

In comparison, there is a 60% and 49% increase in the base clock and the boost clock to the RTX 3090, its RTX 30 ‘Ampere’ series counterpart SKU.

The rumored spec configuration implies the RTX 4090 graphics card is expected to deliver up to 90 TFLOPS in a single-precision workload, which is twice as much as the RTX 3090. 

The RTX 4080 will feature the AD103 GPU and an estimated 10240 CUDA cores. It will feature 16 GB of GDDR6X memory on a 256-bit memory bus with a speed of 21Gbps. The RTX 4080 has a TDP of approximately 420W.

Similarly, the RTX 4070 will be paired with the AD104. It will feature 7168 CUDA cores and a 160-bit memory bus interface with 10GB of GDDR6 memory support clocking at 18 Gbps. Its expected TDP is 300W. 

NVIDIA will only be releasing the RTX 4090, RTX 4080, and RTX 4070 this year, around late September or early October. The rest of the lineup will be launched in 2023.
