CD Projekt Red Announces Cyberpunk 2077 Photo Mode Competition

Cyberpunk 2077 may have had a rocky release, but the numerous patches that have been added to the game since its launch have given the game a second chance in the eyes of the audience. The most recent colossal update fixed many of the initial problems holding the game back and has even added some new features.

One of these is a photo mode, and CD Projekt Red is now holding a contest for the best in-game photos.

The announcement was made through a recent post on the Cyberpunk 2077 Steam page. CD Projekt Red started a contest that asked players to use photo mode to capture some fantastic images with a chance to win some prizes. There are three challenges to be set in total.

The first, which began yesterday and will end next Wednesday, is called “apartments.” No other hint is given beyond this, so it is entirely up to the player how they choose to use this theme. The final two challenges are yet to be named, but they will occur from April 13th to April 27th and April 20th to May 4th, respectively.
Players won’t be taking these photos just for a feature on social media. There are multiple prizes up for grabs, including an art book showing the gorgeous visuals of Cyberpunk 2077, a goodie bag, and a gaming mouse, keyboard, and headset from Alienware.

To participate in the contest, players will need to go to this link to find more information about the competition and registration.

Once players have their in-game shot, fans will be able to upload the image and fill out their details, including which platform the screenshot was taken on. The only conditions are that no mods are allowed, and players are not permitted to edit the photo “using any software.”

Photo mode is a new concept in gaming, and one could say that some even forgot it was a thing. Many modern games now include this feature, and notable names like Hideo Kojima praise the mode as it allows players to stretch their creative vision in-game.

It is also an excellent way for CDPR to see the beauty of the Cyberpunk 2077 world. Night City is an area that has tons to do if players are looking in the right place, and there is always something exciting happening just around the corner. No doubt we are going to get to see some amazing photos.

About Cyberpunk 2077

Cyberpunk 2077 is a 2020 action role-playing video game developed by CD Projekt Red and published by CD Projekt, based on video game designer Mike Pondsmith’s game series.

Set in a dystopian cyberpunk universe, the player assumes the role of “V,” a mercenary in the fictional Californian city known as “Night City,” where they deal with the fallout from a heist gone wrong that results in an experimental cybernetic “bio-chip” containing an engram of the legendary rock star and terrorist Johnny Silverhand (played by Keanu Reeves) threatening to slowly overwrite V’s mind; as the story progresses V and Johnny must work together to find a way to be separated and save V’s life.
