Intel’s Raptor Lake desktop series will be released this fall. However, the company plans to launch the mobile series less than a year after its predecessor, the Alder Lake mobile series, was launched.
Intel confirmed that 13th Gen Core “Raptor Lake” mobile CPUs would be launched in the second half of 2022.
Intel’s CEO Pat Gelsinger explained,
We are building on Alder Lake leadership with Raptor Lake in the second half of this year and Meteor Lake in 2023… We expect to build on this momentum with the launch of our next-gen product family – Raptor Lake – starting with our desktop SKUs this fall, followed by our mobile family by end of year. The Raptor Lake family will offer customers significant advantages, including double digit performance gains gen-on-gen and socket compatibility with Alder Lake.

Intel’s 12th Gen “Alder Lake” K-series desktop CPUs were launched on October 27th. However, the non-K models became available in January. The Alder Lake mobile series was released in February.
Intel’s developer-focused event Innovation is scheduled for September 27th and 28th. The seminar will unveil the Raptor Lake desktop series.
The upcoming Raptor Cove-based CPUs are expected to release around October this year; Intel has not announced an official date yet.
AMD is preparing its Ryzen 7000 “Dragon Range” laptop series and the Strix Point Zen4 APUs for a 2023 release.
Intel has not confirmed the GPU pairings for the Raptor Lake mobile series; the expected options are– GeForce RTX 30, RTX 340339, or Arc A-series. We might see the new NUC Extreme systems in Q4 this year.
