Resident Evil Village is the latest addition to the horror franchise and has received glowing reviews from critics and players alike. Village makes for an exciting ride any RE fan will enjoy with the perfect combination of action and horror. But that doesn’t mean the game is perfect. It does have its bugs, which are patched with routine updates. And the latest update brings a welcoming new feature!
The new Resident Evil Village update went live a few hours ago and aims to fix some bugs (mainly the stuttering) and also brings support for AMD’s FidelityFX Super Resolution technology.
The update is around 1.03GB in size and fixes many performance issues which have affected the game since launch. Notably, the update does not remove Denuvo and Campcom’s proprietary anti-tamper DRM.
An important update for Resident Evil Village players on Steam: – FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) from AMD is now supported. FSR supports higher frame rates on PC for an improved gaming experience. – Adjustments have been made to optimize the anti-piracy technology.
Just a little while after the update went live, Sammy shared a video on YouTube showing a performance comparison to highlight the various improvements along with FidelityFX Super Resolution performance gains.
AMD’s FidelityFX Super Resolution technology aims to perform the same function as NVIDIA’s Deep Learning Super Sampling technology. By upscaling images from a lower resolution to a higher one using this technology, players can obtain better and more photorealistic visuals without needing high-end hardware. In addition, the tech itself is not very demanding, so even mid-tier rigs can benefit from it.
Resident Evil Village has received a lot of post-launch support on the PC from the developers and the modding community. While you have the generic mods which can give you unlimited ammo, you can also make the game doubly terrifying by merging Lady D and Thomas the Tank Engine. Trust us; it’s scarier than it sounds.
