Serve Ranni or Not Choice Results – Ranni’s Quest Guide – Elden Ring

While progressing in Elden Ring, players will arrive at a crossroad where they must choose whether they wish to serve Ranni, the witch, or deny it.

Once you get through Caria Manor, you’ll discover a unique area on the map of Lands Between named Ranni’s Rise. This region is home to the witch Ranni and her partners in crime, Elden Ring NPCs, namely Seluvis the Sorcerer and Blaidd the Wolfman.

Upon reaching the tower located in the aforementioned area, you’ll come across Ranni. As players inch closer to her to interact with her, she’ll present them with the opportunity to serve her.

If you decline to serve Ranni in Elden Ring, you will face no downsides and will be able to continue your quest of finding the Erdtree. She doesn’t exhibit any kind of retaliation and even asks you to reconsider the offer when you return to Ranni’s Rise.

Note: Ranni doesn’t allow players to serve her unless and until they’ve destroyed one of the two Elden Ring bosses: Rennala, Queen of the Full Moon at the Raya Lucaria Academy, or General Radahn in Caelid.

If you accept to serve Ranni in Elden Ring, you will open the door to one of the most complicated questlines of the game, which can also alter its ending. In other words, she’ll task you with looking for the Hidden Treasure of Nokron when you agree to serve her.

However, that’s not all you’ll have to do! Here’s more about what happens when you choose to serve Ranni.

What Does Ranni Ask You to Do When You Agree to Serve Her?

Apart from finding a treasure in Nokron, Ranni asks players to carry out other specific tasks.

She commands you to locate her associates, including the War Counselor Iji, Blaidd, and Seluvis. You can find these ghostly characters on the first floor of the tower Ranni resides in. Once you encounter them, you’ve to interact and converse with them to extract information of exceptional value to Ranni.

By talking to these NPCs, you’ll learn that Starscourge Radahn stopped the stars. As a result, to unravel the mysteries of Nokron, she’ll ask you to defeat this formidable foe.

Guide to Ranni’s Quest in Elden Ring

Ranni’s quest can be divided into three parts, and the guide to the successful completion of each part is given below.

I. Return the Fingerslayer Blade to Ranni

You need to kill Radahn during combat to gain access to a new portal to Nokron, which can be utilized as a gateway to Night’s Sacred Ground. It can also be used to obtain the Fingerslayer Blade, the revered secret treasure of Nokron.

After getting your hands on the sword, you’re supposed to return it to Ranni. This will mark the completion of the initial part quest, and she’ll reward you with a Carian Inverted Statue. You can use it at the Carian Study Hall to get to the top of the Divine Tower of Liurnia.

II. Uncover the Dark Moon Ring

Upon further investigation, you’ll find Renna’s Rise open and will have to take the gateway to Ainsel River. Once you reach the destination, you’ll have to look for a miniature form of Ranni at a nearby Site of Grace. She’ll ask you to defeat a particular Elden Ring enemy, the Baleful Shadow.

Hence, venture to Nokstella and kill the Baleful Shadow. The game will reward you with the Discarded Palace Key. You will then have to use this key to open the chest in Raya Lucaria Grand Library next to Rennala and get your hands on the Dark Moon Ring.

III. Help Ranni Be At Peace

With the help of the Dark Moon Ring, you have to head back to the Lake of Rot and travel to the Grand Cloister. Upon reaching the area, you’ll need to fight Astel, Naturalborn of the Void, via a coffin.

Once you defeat the enemy, you’ve to venture to the Moonlight Alta and visit the Cathedral of Manus Celes, the location of Ranni’s corpse. Use the Dark Moon Ring on her body to finally put her to rest and initiate her proclamation of peace.

As a reward, you’ll get the Dark Moon Greatsword and the choice to complete the Age of the Stars ending.
