Sony to Host next Playstation Event in February, Says Trusted Source

With PS exclusives like God of War: Ragnarok and Horizon: Forbidden West set to roll out this year, fans are wanting nothing but clarity over how Sony will go about making announcements for its upcoming titles.

Thankfully for us, a credible industry insider has taken some inexactness out of Sony’s next event by delivering a piece of fascinating news about it.

According to Tom Henderson, a well-known Battlefield and CoD leaker, Sony could hold this year’s first State of Play in February. While the company itself has confirmed nothing, sources claim that the event carries the potential of being “pretty big.”

The current rumor is that the next Sony event looks like it could be in February based on this month’s media events and past PlayStation dates,

It’ll probably be the State of Play, but it has the potential to be a pretty big one IMO.

Another reliable industry insider, AccountNGT, who has an illustrious history of revealing information on Quantic Dream, added fuel to the fire by further backing this claim.

When asked about the event on Twitter, they said,

It’s coming; I will have a lot of information to deliver when it will be announced.

Now that we have a speculated date to lick our lips over, let’s jump to the content side of the showcase.

Even though 2022 is shaping up to be a massive year for Sony, one should keep their expectations at bay as the Japanese company might not reveal much about its anticipated titles at the State of Play.

Horizon: Forbidden West and Elden Ring are releasing in February itself, and anything significant concerning GoW: Ragnarok is likely to be put aside for a later date.

So what could the event focus on?

Given the hype surrounding PS VR2, Sony’s next step in their VR offering, we believe the headset’s capabilities will steal the showcase’s spotlight. Games like Ghostwire: Tokyo, Hogwarts Legacy, and Stray that haven’t received much publicity could be teased too.

As of now, it also remains to be seen whether Sony would present a whole event or make it revolve around any particular element. But regardless of its nature or scale, enthusiasts do have something electrifying to look forward to.
