Newly-Launched PS VR2 Website comes with Sign-Ups for Pre-order info

Ever since the development of Sony’s much-awaited PlayStation VR2 was confirmed, fans have been aching to know when they’ll get their hands on this next-gen virtual reality offering.

While the release date of the PS VR2 remains unclear, it looks like VR enthusiasts are one step closer to it as  Sony has now launched an official website for this upcoming gear to inform interested buyers when pre-order goes live.

The PlayStation VR2’s website does not contain any new bits of information regarding the VR headset, controllers, or the expected release window. However, it lets PSN account holders to sign-up and be notified about the latest “PS VR2 news, including game announcements, release dates and when you can pre-order your headset.”

As of now, Sony is yet to fully unveil the device as a lot of things like the design of the headset are still being finalized. Therefore, if we’re being rational, then PS VR2 is not expected to roll out anytime soon.

Nonetheless, it’s good to have all the previously announced details accompanied by graphical arrangements in one place. On top of this, the fact that you can register yourself for Sony’s mailing list is likely an indication that the company is girding its loins to reveal more information very soon.

If you are a PS5 owner who can’t wait to get hold of PS VR2, we’d suggest that you sign up and receive critical updates directly in your inbox. Considering how rapidly pre-orders of next-gen tech are sold out, you wouldn’t really want to miss out on buying PS VR2 as soon as it’s up for sale.

Note: The PS VR2 is compatible with the PS5 console only.

Besides this, the site is a reservoir of a slew of main specs that remind enthusiasts of PS VR2’s mouth-watering prowess. Therefore, it starts by flaunting the headset’sOLED display that will provide a 4K HDR resolution of 2000×2040 per eye, 90/120Hz refresh rate, and a 110-degree field of view.

On top of this, the page also sheds light on PS VR2’s eye-tracking feature, which will accurately measure the players’ eye movement, allowing for that data to be used in-game as ‘additional input for the game character.’ Given that this ability is something we’ve never seen before in the realm of VR, competitors must be on tenterhooks.

Eye-tracking cameras follow your line of sight when aiming or looking around, while advanced foveated rendering techniques improve the visual experience by adjusting resolutions to pinpoint and enhance whatever you’re focusing on

The lower section of the website is dedicated to Tempest 3D AudioTech, single-cable connection, a detailed breakdown of PlayStation VR2’s controllers, and Horizon Call of the Mountain, the first game announced for PS VR2.

Hopefully, Sony will be able to fully reveal the device at coming industry events like Game Developers Conference in March. *Fingers crossed*
