Sony is Bringing a Diversified Range of Gaming Hardware for PC users

PCs make up a fifth of the global games market, and therefore, it’s no surprise that even Sony, a company that vowed to innovate the console ecosystem, is broadening its horizons by working on a new range of exciting hardware for PC players.

The Japanese giant has confirmed that it is taking a leap into PC gaming with a new brand called Inzone, which is named after the immersive feeling gamers experience when they are “in the zone.”

We are entering the gaming gear industry with monitors and headsets at an exciting time, since gaming and esports have gotten even more popular over the last few years. We are leveraging Sony’s high-quality display and audio technologies to deliver products that will allow gamers to immerse themselves into their gaming world.

The first Inzone products will be a trio of gaming headsets followed by two gaming monitors.

The three headsets will vary quite a bit in terms of pricing as the costliest option that’s wireless and offers noise cancellation, and synthetic leather comes in at $299. If you are willing to give up on noise cancelation and synthetic leather, a cheaper wireless option will set you back by $229.

However, if you are on a budget and don’t have a lot to spend, Sony’s also selling a pair of headsets for $99. Just be aware that besides lacking noise cancelation and synthetic leather, this variant is wired as well.

But what unites these three pairs is that they’ll sport a spatial sound field feature that lets gamers hear how far opponents are from them and where they are located, on the basis of sound cues.

As for the gaming monitor, Sony will be selling a 4K resolution monitor with a 144-hertz refresh rate this summer at the price of $899. The other option will offer a 1080p display with a 240-hertz refresh rate but wouldn’t put a dent in your wallet at $529.

While Sony aims to diversify its presence across gaming platforms with Inzone, it does not mean that the company is keeping PS5 players in the dark. This is because the new products are also compatible with the next-gen console.

For instance, the two monitors will house a switcher to let players utilize a single keyboard and mouse to switch between PC and PS5 seamlessly for games supporting them. On top of this, the monitors will also feature screen color optimization once connected with the PS5.

We are not saying we are not focusing on the PS5 users. But because we are latecomers to monitors and headphones for [the] gaming segment, we believe we have a chance to catch up.
