Modern Warfare 2 has introduced a new weapon tuning feature to the COD games, which allows players to tune a weapon’s stats and attachment to suit their preferred playstyle. However, shockingly, the players who unlocked this feature discovered that it was unavailable and not working for them.
So, if the weapon tuning is not working for you, don’t panic because you are not alone. Interestingly, the primary reason behind the feature’s temporary unavailability is a game-breaking bug.
Infinity Ward has disabled the weapon tuning feature in MW2 due to a bug that crashes the game for players with 5 attachments tuned on a loadout.
In a Tweet on 30th October, Infinity Ward explained that the issue is being investigated for now, and if you currently have a tuned attachment equipped, you need to unequip and re-equip it to use your loadout. This fix commonly works because players re-equip the untuned attachments.
When will the weapon tuning feature be re-enabled in MW2?
Infinity Ward has not officially announced when the weapon tuning feature will be re-enabled or the game crashing bug will be fixed.
Sadly, the tweet mentions that the issue is being investigated “until further notice,” which means that we all have to wait out and keep an eye on IW’s Twitter handle for further updates on the weapon tuning feature.
