“Covenant Commitment” is a main storyline quest in New World, which tasks the players with finding Yonas Alazar, a soulwarden NPC. It is a major quest in the game as completing it rewards you with an Azoth Staff upgrade to tier 2.
An Azoth staff allows the players to participate in some high-level PvE events. High-tier Azoth staff can be used to access higher-tier expeditions.
Where to find Yonas Alazar in the Covenant Commitment quest?
Yonas Alazar can be found in Fort Alazar during the Covenant Commitment quest in New World. Fort Alazar is located in the northern part of the Brightwood region, northwest of the Brightwood settlement and just north of the Ironbend.

How to upgrade the Azoth Staff to tier 2 in New World?
Azoth Staff can be upgraded to tier 2 by completing the Covenant Commitment quest in New World. Emile d’Aquitane, an NPC, will give players this quest after completing the “Chain of Command” quest in the main storyline.
Once the quest is received, all you have to do is meet and “report your success to Yonas at the new Soulwarden Camp.”
Take the road branching from the northwest of the Brightwood settlement and follow it till the road starts curving to the east and then immediately to the north after a sharp turn. This sharp curve is labeled “Ironbend” on the New World map.
As you keep moving north on this path, you will see wooden barricades and fort-like structures. Soon your screen will display a message “Fort Alazar- Landmark Charted.” Congratulations! you have arrived at your desired location.
Now enter the fort through the main gate and turn right immediately, follow the broad wooden stairs up to a large shelter area. You will find Yonas standing at the end of this room/shelter.
Talk to him and select the option “Complete the quest.” to end the quest and upgrade your Azoth staff to tier 2.
What rewards will I get for completing the Covenant Commitment quest?
A tier 2 Azoth Staff along with 3,550 XP, 59.00 Gold Coin, and 100 Azoth will be rewarded to the players for completing the Covenant Commitment quest in New World.
After this, players can receive the “The Syndicate’s Support” quest from Yonas Alazar, which rewards the players with 3,650 XP, 60.00 Coin, and 20 Azoth. Players will have to travel to the Monarch’s Bluffs region to complete this new quest.
